| Operation The
Lake Stevens Community Food Bank depends on volunteers to supply
food to those in our community who need a helping hand. Without
volunteers there would not be a food bank to serve our community. We
have over 60 individuals who volunteer over 500 hours per month.
During the year they will register over 600 families. Some of our
seniors live on a fixed income. Others have large families and not
enough income. Some families need help for only a week or so until
they can find work while others find themselves temporarily without
a job. We will serve about 2000 family members of which 1000 are
children. The needs vary but all are sincere. These faithful
servants will tell you that the satisfaction of helping others is
all they need to keep them volunteering. The Bible tells us that it
is more satisfying to give than to receive. The Food Bank volunteers
prove that this is true over and over.

“There is no shame in hunger. There
is shame in
knowing about hunger and doing nothing about it.”

"For I was hungry and you gave me
something to eat,
I was thirsty
and you gave
me something
to drink..."
